Our Mission
McNamee Colt Company began with a vision and a horse — a stud named Jag Chic Shines. After years of training horses for others, Tim realized his true passion wasn’t just in refining what was already there, but in shaping it from the start — breeding horses with the kind of balance, temperament, and consistency that make them a joy to ride and a partner for life.

Here in White Bird, Idaho, we’ve built our breeding program around that vision. We don’t chase trends or extremes. Instead, we focus on producing horses that are smooth movers, fast walkers, and steady between the ears — horses with confidence, not attitude; & feel, not flightiness.

Together, Tim and Danette are committed to being honest and loyal not only to their customers but also to their horses. Tim has an uncanny knack for matching horses with riders — finding the right fit in size, ability, and spirit — ensuring both horse and rider find confidence in one another. Every broodmare in our program has been personally handled, and many have been started —  so we truly understand the mind, movement, and heart behind each foal we raise. Our mares are chosen for their soundness, stamina, and willingness — the kind of mares that carry not just their foals, but the legacy of what good breeding should stand for.
